Japanese Chin
The Japanese Chin is one of the most popular breeds in Japan, and is often seen as a symbol of good luck and prosperity. The breed’s origins are unknown, but it has existed in Japan since at least the 16th century. The Japanese Chin was first introduced to England by 19th-century traders, who gave them away as gifts to nobility. One such recipient was Queen Victoria, who became so fond of her pet Japanese Chins that she ordered more from Japan and established breeding kennels in England to ensure their continuation. Today’s English show-type Japanese Chins are bred to conform to the standards set forth by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Jindo
The Jindo is an ancient Korean breed that was used as a guard dog, hunter, and messenger. This medium-sized, muscular dog has a broad head, which is deep and set low. The strong muzzle is narrow at the base and widens toward the end. The nose is black or brown. The ears are triangular in shape and hang down close to the cheeks. The tail curls tightly over the back. These smart and agile dogs need moderate exercise every day to stay happy and healthy.
Jagdterrier
The Jagdterrier is a mix between the Jack Russell Terrier and the Dachshund. They’re small, active, and intelligent. This breed is perfect for families with children because they are very playful and affectionate.
The Jagdterrier requires frequent brushing to keep their coat healthy. The best way to groom this dog would be by using a slicker brush or pin brush since it can easily reach through the coat and remove loose hair. Brushing should be done at least once every day.
These breeds are known to have many health problems such as cataracts, cleft palate, corneal ulcers, epilepsy, ectropion or entropion (turning in or out of eye), hypothyroidism, patellar luxation (knee issues), skin infections due to excessive grooming and autoimmune diseases like chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
In addition to these health issues this breed may also experience heat exhaustion if not provided adequate shade or water while outside.
